A permaculture school in Bolinas California (Erin took me there for my birthday a couple of years ago. Great place to visit). She talks about the origins of permaculture and some of its applications. Second came Dave Jacke. He speaks of edible forest gardens. Most people think of food coming from a garden or farm. How about a well thought out forest?
